Information on the processing of personal data

Dear Participant,
you are invited to take part in the activities of the project “CEE2ACT- Empowering the Central and Eastern European Countries to Develop Circular Bioeconomy Strategies and Action Plans”, funded under the Horizon Europe framework by the European Commission. The purpose of this document is to help you to take an informed and responsible decision about the sharing of your Personal Data in the context of CEE2ACT activities.


1. CEE2ACT project description

The core activity of CEE2ACT is to empower countries in Central Eastern Europe and beyond (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) to develop circular bioeconomy strategies and action plans through knowledge transfer and innovative governance models enabling sustainability and resilience to achieve better informed decision making processes, societal engagement and innovation, building on the practice of experienced countries serving as role models in this context (Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Finland, Sweden). 2. Type of personal data that will be processed

Next type of personal data will be processed:

  • Location: Country and region
  • Geographical scale
  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Organization details: name, competences, business address and sector associated

3. Purpose of the activity

In the context of CEE2ACT, you might be involved in the following activities requiring your explicit consent:

  1. Creating and sharing with other CEE2ACT partners a participant list or list of users aggregated, along with their contacts and , to allow all CEE2ACT beneficiaries to assess this information, to have feedback on decisions, to monitor the advancement of the action.
  2. Map the organization type in the right category of the “Self-Assessment tool” to enable a proper functionality. Data will be collected for instance to establish the user profile. Users of the tool will have to answer questions related to their activity and profile.
  3. By elaborating this gathered data, new information will be generated, in form of text and graphs as well as a database

4. Legal basis for the data processing

As of 25 May 2018 the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR) is directly applicable in all Member States of the European Union. The GDPR, inter alia, provides for extended information requirements in regard to the processing of personal data.


5. Data protection and privacy

The data gathered during this activity will be stored securely by the data controller (see item 10). Personal data collected as part of this activity shall be retained up to 24 months after the end of the CEE2ACT project, and shall be destroyed after this period.


6. Data processing and dissemination

  1. The materials and data collected will be encrypted and then elaborated to generate the results of the CEE2ACT project. These results may be presented at scientific or professional meetings or published as deliverables of the project as well as in scientific or professional journals for communication and dissemination purposes. Personal data shall be processed only for those administrative, operational, accounting, research and monitoring purposes that are necessary for the safe and reliable implementation of CEE2ACT, without prejudice to the individual rights under the relevant laws.
  2. Personal Data included in the list of CEE2ACT users might be analysed for the purpose of the activities of CEE2ACT (e.g. to invite for CEE2ACT events) or associated events linked with the project theme. The full list with contact details and tasks assigned to individuals will not be disseminated to the public nor published.
  3. Personal data will be stored on physical device. The Data Controllers commit to restrict as far as possible the number of staff members that have access to original and non-processed Personal Data, to avoid any data breach, according to the provisions set in section 3. Consortium will not have access to Personal Data from this task.

7. Benefits and potential risks

There are no direct risks or economic benefits to you that we know of.


8. Compensation for participation

Participation is voluntary and you will not receive any reimbursement, in cash or in kind, as payment for your participation


9. Rights of the participation

Your participation is voluntary, and you have the right to refuse to participate and to withdraw your participation, samples and/or data at any time without any consequences. You have the right to refuse to answer specific questions. You have a right to request from the data controller access to and rectification or erasure of your Data or restriction of processing concerning you or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability. To exercise these rights please contact our data protection officer (for contact details see Item 10). In addition, you have the right to lodge any appeals you may have with the data protection authority.
